Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the FastSweep application in either edition and this website. By downloading, installing, or using FastSweep, you agree to these Terms.

1. License

The Mac App Store edition grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the free sandboxed app on devices associated with your App Store account, subject to the Mac App Store terms. The Direct edition grants a personal license to install the downloaded build on your own Macs; write-capable tools require an active trial or plan where applicable, and device slots are managed through the in-app account.

2. Acceptable use

  • Do not reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law.
  • Do not use FastSweep to access files you are not authorized to manage.
  • Do not bypass App Store distribution, code signing, or platform security controls.
  • Do not use the Shredder to destroy evidence you are legally required to preserve.

3. Your data & responsibility

FastSweep is designed to be safe: it is review-first, moves files to the Trash rather than deleting them permanently by default, and logs its actions. The Shredder is the deliberate exception: shredded files are overwritten and cannot be recovered, and the app warns you before each one. Even so, you are responsible for reviewing items before cleaning and for maintaining your own backups. We recommend keeping a current Time Machine or equivalent backup.

4. Price and refunds

The Mac App Store edition is free and sells nothing inside the app. The Direct edition is a free download; scan and review work without an account. Any paid plan is billed per the pricing shown in the app at purchase, and refunds for such plans follow the processor's and our stated refund policy.

5. Updates

The Mac App Store edition updates through the Mac App Store. The Direct edition installs updates only from cryptographically signed manifests verified on device; if signature verification fails, the update is refused.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

FastSweep is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or that it will recover or preserve any particular file. Malware detection, including the realtime watch, is advisory and does not guarantee that your Mac is free of malware.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FastSweep will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the prior twelve months.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of FastSweep after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
